“ThaiBev” was incorporated in Thailand in October 2003 in order to consolidate Thailand’s leading beer , spirits and non-alcohol businesses owned by the principal shareholders and their business associates under a single holding company. ThaiBev was subsequently listed on the Singapore Exchange (“SGX”) on May 30, 2006. The listing was the largest in Singapore in ten years, raising US$1.574 billion (or Baht 38.08 billion) and received great interest.

The major substantial shareholder in ThaiBev is Mr. Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, family and associates, who own approximately 64.94% of the company’s paid-up share capital (as of December 31 2007), the rest being held by private groups, investment institutions and retail investors.


Not only is ThaiBev Thailand’s largest alcohol beverages producer, it is also one of Southeast Asia’s largest, though today 96.4% of its revenues are generated in Thailand.

Since listing, ThaiBev has implemented a strategy to allow it to expand overseas. To this end, its wholly-owned subsidiary, International Beverage Holdings Limited (“IBHL”) is charged with this task. To date, IBHL has set up sales offices in 6 countries and commenced active promotion of sales to countries like the USA, UK, Australia, and others of two of ThaiBev’s products, Chang Beer and Mekhong rum. Expansion will also include whiskies made in Scotland by IBHL’s subsidiary Inver House.

One in Kamphaeng Phet belongs to the Beer Thai (1991) Public Company Limited, another in Bang Baan district, Ayutthaya belongs to Beer Thip Brewery (1991) Company Limited, and the other in Wang Noi, Ayutthaya belongs to the Cosmos

The Beer Thai (1991) Public Company Limited

Beer Chang was conceived with the visionary outlook of the top executives to expand the beer market with a Thai taste albeit with international quality, to give the consumers an alternative with the fervent belief in the brewing and production capability of the Thais. The first bottle of Beer Chang rolled off the production line on April 4, 1994, from the brewery in Bang Baan district, Ayutthaya. It was officially marketed on March 2, 1995.

The popularity of Beer Chang quickly and continuously increased. This led to a major expansion in production capacity to respond to consumer demands. A new brewery was constructed in Kamphaeng Phet under the management of the Beer Thai (1991) Public Company Limited. It later became a public company in 2001, with a registered capital of 5,500 million baht.

The Kamphaeng Phet brewery began construction in November 1999 at the cost of 9,000 million baht. It started beer production on October 12, 2001 and the first bottle of Beer Chang rolled off the brewery on November 23, 2001.

It has a land area of 1,600 rai, utilizing the latest production technology in the world. Every step in the production process is highly efficient with all the standards implemented throughout the process with emphasis on energy conservation, pollution control and environmental awareness. The Company received ISO 9002: 1994 certification on September 26, 2000 and ISO 9001: 2000 certification on September 12, 2001. The environmental standard certification ISO 14001: 1996 was awarded to the company on November 7, 2001.

Currently, Beer Thai (1991) Co., Ltd. (Plc) brewery in Kamphaeng Phet Province is a major production base for Beer Chang –The beer that is the pride of the Thai people.



The Beerthip Brewery (1991) Company Limited.

The Beerthip Brewery (1991) Company Limited produces Beer Chang by obtaining the business from the Beer Thai (1991) Public Company Limited. It has begun business since October 1, 2003.

The brewery that spawned the first bottle of Beer Chang is located at Tambon Namtao, Bang Baan District, Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya Province. It was built with an investment of 2,500 million baht on 330 rai of land through the cooperation of Danbrew, Ltd., A/S of Denmark, which has a wealth of experience in building breweries throughout the world.

The brewery in Bang Baan utilizes the most modern production technology in the world, with a very high production capacity. The production of Beer Chang Chang commenced on April 4, 1994 and became available in the market on March 2, 1995.

The official opening ceremony of the brewery took place on July 19, 1997, and was presided over by Prince Frederik, the Crown Prince of Denmark.

The Cosmos Brewery (Thailand) Company Limited.

The Company owns the brewery in Wang Noi, Ayutthaya with a production capacity of 120 million liters a year.
